The coffee in the lobby was good, and the room had a coffee maker with fresh-tasting coffee, though I didn’t recognize the brand. The place looks newly renovated, and it’s pet-friendly for a fee. Be sure to tell the front desk about pet-dander allergies when you book. There’s no guest elevator, so plan ahead if someone with you has a disability or injury. The TV was basic, with no movie channels. The serious problem was privacy in the morning. Housekeeping opened my room door at 9:30 am without knocking or announcing themselves, even though checkout might be 11 am. I didn’t hear a knock or a verbal warning as they moved on to the next room, so it seemed like a broader practice, not a one-off mistake. The front desk gave no real apology for staff entering a guest’s rented room. They handled my complaint very poorly.

That heated indoor pool felt almost like South Florida, where I’m from, even though it was cold outside. The hotel staff made me feel more welcome than I do at home. If I make it back to Hart, MI., I’ll absolutely stay here again. The rooms and facilities are 5☆☆☆☆☆, and I’d tell anyone in the area to stay here.

The hotel was clean, but it felt plain and very average. Check-in and checkout were easy. We came up with two buddies for the silver lake sand dunes and paid $215 A NIGHT for a two-bedroom room on a weekend. Asking for a cot cost another $25 lol, so two days came to $430 without the cot. The front desk said the same room is usually $87 and that this was peak season. I get that prices go up, but more than %100 feels like price gouging. I wouldn’t come during peak season, it’s not worth that much.

There were plenty of breakfast choices, and the staff were generally friendly. The rooms were moderately clean, and the pool is a good size for kids, though it could use a better cleaning. I’m not sure the nightly rate is worth it.

The pool area is spacious and well kept, and the hotel itself is very clean and smells nice. The free breakfast was bland and only marginal. It seemed a little overpriced, though the staff appeared friendly enough.
