Quality Inn Hartwell Area

I've stayed here more than once and have seen rats and roaches all over the hotel, including on the stairs. The rat and bug problem still hasn't been fixed. There are rats all over the place, and I'm disgusted and very disappointed. The mildew-smelling rooms seem like they could make you sick. I'll never come back to Hartwell quality inn. Everyone, don't waste your money. Go to HAMPTON INN down the street unless you want to sleep with rats and roaches. I'm beyond disgusted.

The staff were all polite and professional, and the room was good. Breakfast was a very good self-serve waffle, along with cereal and some fruit. The location worked well, across from Ingles and half a mile from Walmart or downtown. There's a great Mexican restaurant next door. Just drive very slowly on the entrance road because the potholes are huge.

The rooms were clean, but this is an older motel with very thin walls. We heard people talking outside and knocking on doors, and after a long day of traveling we just wanted to rest. Our dog kept barking at the noise, so it was anything but quiet. The TV kept freezing too. We won't stay here again.

The front desk folks were amazing and super helpful, and I really appreciate them. Please don't take this review as a reflection on them. I travel for work outdoors, so breakfast matters a lot to me, but this one was pointless: cereal, some Great Value yogurt, coffee, maybe a waffle maker. The pool was empty, so there was no swimming. It sounds like they are renovating, but only about half the rooms seem done. Roaches were mostly outside, though I saw about two in my room. The A/C really needs replacing, and there was a hole in the wall. The room had a TV, coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. Housekeeping took out the trash, changed towels and maybe the sheets, but didn't refill the tissue or coffee tray. The floor could've used a sweep too, though maybe that's asking too much. We work outside, and I try to leave my boots by the door, but the floor still got pretty dirty over the week.
