Quality Inn & Suites Harvey - Chicago Southland

The room was clean and nice, and the service was accommodating. Breakfast had to be eaten in the dining room, which felt a little childish to me. We ordered food instead and took it back to our room. I’m not sure why that should make a difference.

My guest was happy with the stay overall, and the housekeeping and breakfast staff in particular helped make it enjoyable. The rooms were cleaned daily. There were some complaints, though, and the hotel needs renovation: visible damage and unfinished plastering on the walls. Some of that may have been caused by past guests, but the property still needs to be maintained for future visitors.

We spotted roaches in both rooms within minutes, so luckily we could leave right away. I also learned the area has a lot of crime from a sign on the lobby security screen telling people not to do criminal stuff. If bugs are your thing, this might be the place. Otherwise, don’t stay here!

After staying Saturday night, I made a reservation for Sunday, but when I checked in I was told I was on the do-not-rent list. Nobody at the hotel could tell me why. I called corporate, and they contacted the hotel, but still no explanation was given, or perhaps they didn’t want to give one. I’m older and hope this isn’t discrimination based on my age.
