Days Inn by Wyndham Hattiesburg MS

I only booked here at the last minute because everywhere else was full. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it reeked of smoke. The front desk woman was nice, though I left very disappointed. The bathroom was dirty, and there was hair on the supposedly clean towels. Absolutely disgusting. I don’t think the owner knows what’s going on and should inspect the place. Housekeeping needs to do a better job. I’ll never return, and I hope they get things in order before anyone else stays.

The front desk lady was lovely and helped us when we arrived, but the room was a different story. The hallways smelled like weed, and so did our room. The bathroom looked nasty, the sheets had stains, the floors were gross, and the furniture was worn and outdated. We turned around and checked out because we knew we couldn’t sleep comfortably there, then drove to another hotel. Please get the place properly cleaned and updated.

Our Christmas weekend got derailed when our semi broke down, which was a real damper on the holiday. The staff were great, though, friendly and helpful. There are lots of places to shop and eat within walking distance, plus a movie theater behind the hotel. We had amazing food at Wards, Vicious Biscuit and Corner Markert. We’d definitely come back.

We picked this place because Days Inn included breakfast, but that was a letdown: there was coffee, watered-down juice from a machine, and microwave oatmeal with only hot water to make it. No fruit, muffins, dairy, cereal, or anything else. I left hungry and disappointed. The cheap rate did make it an affordable place to spend the night, but the room felt very old, with worn bedding, old carpet, and a dingy chair. I’d booked a non-smoking room, yet both the hallway and room smelled of old smoke. You get what you pay for, I guess. Next time I need a place in Hattiesburg, I’ll spend a little more.
