Radisson Hotel Hauppauge-Long Island

My parents' room was badly run down, but the worst problems were the lack of hot water and heat, plus a live roach in the bed. They also found a dead roach wrapped in clothing on the floor. That's unsanitary and dangerous, and completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under a major brand. When they went to management, they got no support, solutions, compensation, or accountability. The dismissive response to serious health and safety concerns was shocking. This kind of neglect raises questions about management and cleanliness standards, and how a place like this is still operating under the Radisson name. I'm sharing this so others don't go through what my parents did. Until there are major improvements and accountability, I'd strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

The staff were friendly, and my room was clean, quiet, and had hot water. The bed was comfortable, too, and dinner at the bar was good. But this place feels like the 70s or 80s and needs a full renovation. There was a musty smell, likely from dirty ductwork and old carpet, and the TV reception was awful, with no HD. My phone had a much better screen. Only one TV at the bar was working, too. The hotel really needs an update.

We rented two rooms for a family trip with a baby, and housekeeping started knocking on both doors well before the noon checkout. By 10:30, a housekeeper went into my son's room and threw out my business notebook, food, and other belongings. I hadn't checked out. When we went to complain at 11:20, Faraz at the front desk was surprised too. He and the man who takes out the trash tried to help find the items and resolve it, but the housekeepers were rude and unapologetic. They kept claiming I'd left. I emailed the supervisor to make a formal complaint and still haven't heard back. Meanwhile, no staff seemed to hurry the prostitutes out, even though they were banging on our door by 9:45. One propositioned my autistic son the night before, and another hit on my husband the next night. The pool was full of debris and rocks, so we couldn't use it, even though it was one reason we'd chosen the hotel.

I spent three nights here without hot water. I asked to move, but the next room had neither hot water nor heat. They took me through several rooms to check, and each one lacked hot water, heat, or both. With New York temperatures freezing, the manager's excuses were unacceptable. There was also a cockroach in my room, which the hotel refused to acknowledge. Then they tried to charge my card twice and told me their refund machine was broken. After more than a week of repeated calls and demands, I finally got my money back. This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. Beware and stay at your own risk!
