The front desk staff went out of their way to help me find a safe spot for my vehicle and trailer, and they’re pet-friendly. My room was clean and had the towels and basics I needed. No chocolates or mints on the pillow, but the bed and furnishings were comfortable. It’s easy to find on the main road through town, near places to eat and shop. I could hear some traffic and trains, though it didn’t keep me awake. A good place to stay for a pretty modest price.

For an older motel, it’s pretty nice. The vintage mini fridge is a favorite, and it works great. The room was comfortable and clean. Even with the railyard so close, it stayed pretty quiet. The hot water was truly hot, with plenty of pressure.

I like staying somewhere local when I travel, and this isn’t a chain. It feels like it was built back when things were simple. I slept like a rock, and the shower has so much pressure it’ll get you clean if you’re dirty. Chars next door is a great choice for breakfast, in my book.

From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but inside it’s super retro and genuinely one of the coziest hotels I’ve stayed in. It was really clean, I felt comfortable there, and the showers were great. I love the old-school vibe.

It’s right in the heart of town and close to the Amtrak station, with prices that are very competitive. I’d call it the best value in town. When you phone, a real person answers instead of a robotic voice, and the owner is kind, responsive, helpful, courteous, and professional.
