We had a very pleasant stay. The renovated room was clean, with a full kitchen, big bathroom, and balcony facing the lake. The food at the Lodge restaurant was excellent, and we were lucky to meet and get to know Virginia and Tony while dining there.

We’ve owned at VRI Tanglwood Resort since 2013, and now that our contract is fully paid off, we’re trying to end the account. They won’t let us cancel, and we want out so this financial burden doesn’t fall to our children. The sales presentation was supposed to take 60 minutes but became a five-hour high-pressure ordeal, with four representatives cycling through before we bought. The promised “anywhere in the world” points have turned out to be nearly impossible to use: availability is limited, and most destinations cost more points than we earn. We were also blindsided by annual maintenance fees that rise without notice, fees to use our points, and extra costs for RCI memberships and point extensions. We’ve had broken appliances during stays, and have since found much better vacation options. I’d strongly advise others to stay away.

I had a great time at the dinner and show. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were so kind.

A comfortable, straightforward place to stay while passing through the area. The DVD rental selection is broad, which is a nice extra, and the arrangement to use another community’s pool about 20 minutes away is worthwhile. I wouldn’t choose it for a stay meant to impress someone.

A quiet, friendly mountain resort across from the lake, and a great place for our family scattered around the Northeast to meet up. The pool overlooks the lake, and there’s boat rental on the grounds. We liked the tennis court, small rec center with crafts and an arcade, plus the bar and restaurant. Restaurants are just minutes away, and the free public beach is 1.5 miles off. The walk across the dam to watch the sunset and stop at the local ice cream shop is beautiful. Hiking trails are a short drive away. The rooms could use some updates, but there’s a lot to enjoy here. We’ll be back with the extended family!
