TownePlace Suites by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne

Everyone was kind and welcoming, and the pool and hot tub area were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was really good, better than any hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. We also tried the pizza place attached to the hotel, and it was very good. I had no complaints and would definitely stay again when I come back.

We stayed nearly a week after Christmas. The location made it a short drive to LAX, SoFi, grocery stores, and restaurants. The front desk folks were friendly, though less so than at other Marriott locations, but decent enough. Breakfast was standard for a Marriott, nothing different. The room was comfortable enough for the week and our stay was pleasant, though there were a few hiccups. It was clean and spacious, and the air conditioning worked well. They came to fix the dishwasher on the second day. The bathrooms were pretty clean, but the shower stains could use better cleaning or touch-ups. The bathroom sliding door was hard to close and wouldn’t shut all the way. Overall, it was a good stay, just not as good as some other properties.

The outdoor jacuzzi was a real highlight, and the swimming pool was decent too. The hotel was nice and very clean during our stay over Christmas 2025 and into the New Year. Keep in mind there aren’t many good places to eat immediately outside the hotel. You’ll definitely need a car, since better options are a mile or two down the road. Breakfast had a very casual, slightly noisy feel. I found it a bit odd that so many guests came down in their pyjamas. Quite a few people also played music or watched videos on their phones without headphones while eating. Overall, it was a good stay.

On March 3 at night, I called the front desk twice for some missing items, but nobody brought them. I checked again in the morning, and they still weren’t there. Then on March 4, while checking out, I left my luggage in the car and tried to get back into the hotel. A staff member wouldn’t open the door because I didn’t have the hotel key. They were extremely rude and dismissive, and I had to wait for another guest to let me in. Even then, the staff acted as if they didn’t recognize me, despite my having checked out about one minute earlier. The stay was very disappointing and left me feeling unwanted and unsatisfied. I wouldn’t return.
