Hampton Inn Hays-North of I-70

This was just what we needed for a quick stop while driving across the state. The manager did a great job reserving an extra rollaway bed for our large family. The hotel is near shopping centers and within walking distance of places to eat, including IHOP. There are also EV chargers behind the hotel, a nice bonus. We’ll come back next time we’re headed this way.

For what they charge, this hotel is rundown and awful. The updated outside and shared areas are misleading, and I can’t believe Hilton charges so much for a place like this. It took several key scans to open my room, and once inside, I could hear the couple in the adjoining room screaming at each other through the paper-thin walls. They kept it up while I unpacked. I also found stains and dirt on pretty much every surface that could hold them. I’m attaching photos.

I couldn’t sleep all night. The hotel sits right on I-70, and the noise inside was awful, with trucks passing just a few feet from the bed. It felt like there was no sound insulation at all. Terrible.

Angie at the front desk really stood out for her customer service. She was extremely kind and attentive to us, as well as to everyone having breakfast and checking out. It was a great stop on our way across Kansas toward Colorado.
