Home2 Suites by Hilton Hayward

This was our second stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Hayward, but this time was nothing like the first. I woke during the night and found ants in the room. I disinfect hotel rooms with Clorox wipes and Lysol when we arrive, and hadn't seen any at check-in. They seemed to come out overnight. By 5 a.m. they were all over the kitchen counter, bathroom, shower, toilet, tables by the couch, and near the bed. My husband had to get up early and clean the area where I was getting ready, even though he hadn't slept much. He told the front desk, and they offered housekeeping, but we were checking out and had already handled most of the ants ourselves, so he declined. He asked for a manager and was told they weren't available, but would be informed and contact us. We asked again at checkout after breakfast in the lobby and got the same answer. My husband pointed to the lobby guarantee: “We guarantee an engaging experience and clean, comfortable accommodations. If you aren't completely satisfied, let us make it right or that night's on us.” He asked them to comp the room. The receptionist refused and said points were the best they could offer. We've tried several times by phone and email to reach a manager since then, with no reply. We're extremely disappointed by the room's cleanliness and management's lack of follow-up or accountability. This wasn't the standard we expected from Hilton. We hope Home2 Suites takes the feedback seriously and improves pest control and customer service.

I was there for a conference, and because it wasn't busy, it stayed quiet. The room was very clean and roomy, with ceramic dishes, plates and cups, plus stainless steel utensils. I watched a couple episodes of my favorite show on the big-screen TV. Breakfast was nice: a waffle, eggs, and fruit, and the coffee was great. Thank you!

I used to love this hotel, but security is lacking and I'm done booking here. If you have a work truck and need a place to stay for work, I'd stay away. My vehicle was broken into, the security guard was nowhere to be found, and the hotel cameras didn't capture anything.

We had a very nice stay while visiting family in Hayward. The rooms and shared areas were tidy and well kept, the beds comfortable, and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and has enough variety to find something you like, though it could use bacon, lol. There's a washer and dryer in the workout room, and using them is reasonably priced. The front desk can sell or exchange quarters. I can recommend Home2 Suites.
