The Riverside Motel

My dog and I got a room on short notice, and the friendly staff made it easy. It was clean, warm, and comfortable for a fair price. There’s even a really cool guitar shop in the lobby. Spend your money at a local business and skip the franchise hotels.

The room was clean and ready for us, and the owners were genuinely welcoming. We had a terrific weekend stay, with great hospitality and service. I’d recommend staying here if you’re visiting Hayward, Wisconsin.

The kids were busy for hours in the woods, skipping stones and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit, while we relaxed in the Adirondack chairs and looked out at the lake. The peaceful setting among tall pines was lovely. Inside, the cabin was cozy, clean, and had what our family needed. Big windows kept us feeling close to the outdoors, and we liked breakfast with the morning sun coming through the trees. Evenings were quiet by the fire as the lake settled. We loved our stay here, and are already talking about coming back. It was a wonderful place to slow down, unplug, and spend real time together, like our own little bit of Northwoods paradise.

A snow-panic booking turned into a stay I’d happily repeat, though hopefully next time the weather causes less drama. We were trying to outrun a forecast for 12-inch snowfall, but the snow won, and Riverside Motel saved the day. The service was so friendly, and we got a surprise upgrade to a riverside room. It was spotless and had a true Wisconsin Northwoods feel without the “grandma’s cabin” vibe. EV guests can charge for free if they bring their own charger. Add easy access to coffee and food that open early, and it’s a welcoming, clean place run by people who care. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
