The front desk experience really spoiled the stay for me. Alyssa acted like checking me in was a hassle, and it was disappointing to give the service such a low rating because of that. The room was very clean, and housekeeping was really nice. Apart from the desk, I had an amazing stay.

We had the handicap room in the northeast corner, and the rocky, wooded view from the window nook was nice. That nook is my favorite part of the room, a cozy bench by the windows with enough space to lie down. The bed wasn’t anything high end, but it was comfortable, better than at some other low budget places. The room itself is simple, and the floors are thin, so ask for the third floor if you can. Breakfast is basic but enough, with hard boiled eggs, bananas, yogurt, butter, cream cheese, bagels, milk, cereal, juice, coffee, hot water, waffles, peanut butter, packaged pastries, and oatmeal packets. Getting coffee and breakfast at all for this price feels like a steal. You can’t beat the value, and I’d stay again.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and kept a good attitude even while busy. The room seemed fine at first, with made beds, lots of pillows, and storage, but I noticed more problems as I spent time there. The toilet lid was broken, dirt had built up in the bathroom and needed a scrub, and the sheets were stained. There were also bugs crawling on the walls that I’m pretty sure were cockroach nymphs. I checked the bed and, luckily, didn’t find bedbugs. I was only passing through and needed a cheap place to sleep before continuing my trip, so I wasn’t expecting luxury, but cleanliness is something they can control. The room needs a much better deep clean.

I was working out of town and stayed two nights. The woman at the front desk was nice, but the rooms were uncomfortable. In the first room, the other guy’s bed had no frame, just a box spring and mattress on the floor. In the second room I saw one fairly large roach, squashed it, and left it in the toilet for housekeeping to see. The third room had signs of old bedbugs on the mattress and dead ones on the walls. I didn’t take many pictures because I was too grossed out. Wouldn’t recommend.
