We just wrapped up three nights at this excellent B&B and really enjoyed its character, hospitality, and comfortable beds. The breakfasts were unbelievably delicious, too. Our wonderful host Tracey gave us a warm welcome, helpful information about the area, and fresh cookies to go with local wines when we arrived. The town square is an easy walk away.

The building has a charming, historic shabby feel, and our deluxe room was pretty good, with a comfortable king bed. The bathroom was a decent size, but there was no tub and the enclosed shower was so tiny it felt awkward. A few things bothered us. The key that was meant to be left for after-hours arrival wasn't there when we got in around 6pm, so we had to call the emergency number and wait. Luckily, we weren't in a hurry. Breakfast and coffee didn't impress me either. And the laminated bathroom card asking guests to keep showers to 3 minutes felt unwelcoming. I understand the drought issue, but a polite request not to waste water would feel more hospitable than making navy showers seem like a rule. Am I not allowed to wash my hair? I usually avoid Healdsburg because weekend prices are so high, but this was a midweek visit with a special running, so I was satisfied with the price and location. I'm not sure it would be worth it at weekend rates.

The inn is pretty and historic, and the garden is lovely. But we booked a room that suggested a view, and ours was underground with the view blocked by a privacy wall. With the sliding door curtains closed, it was windowless.

Quiet mornings on the large front porch with coffee and a view of the gardens were a favorite part of our stay at the Calderwood Inn. The fresh breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. The house has lovely architecture, and the grounds have lots of places to stroll or sit. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was small, but that seemed reasonable in some rooms of a home over 100 years old. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The inn is within walking distance of town, shops, restaurants, and wine tasting rooms, with many wineries a short drive away. Some tastings were complimentary with our stay. If I'm back in the area, I'll stay at the Calderwood Inn again.

Amber the Host and Carolina the Assistant did an incredible job with breakfast and were very accommodating with check-in and anything we needed. It was our first visit, and we had a most enjoyable time. The Inn is quaint, with decor and furnishings that feel true to the period. We stayed in the spacious Wilson Room and couldn't find anything to criticize. Its porch was lovely, and the Inn's front porch was huge, with very comfortable furniture. The location is convenient for the local square and many of the town's best restaurants, as well as for getting to wine country and its exceptional wineries. If it's within your budget, I couldn't recommend it more.
