Harmon Guest House

This place has a very European feel, and I thought the rooms were as good as Hotel Healdsburg’s, aside from its large tub. Prices seemed about 25-50% lower. Staff numbers felt a bit thin, but they were competent and resourceful. Free bike rental, the pool, and the unusual parking system are all worth checking out.

The toilet paper was the cheapest, roughest one-ply I’ve ever had to use, and it really affected the stay. Little details say a lot about quality versus cost-cutting, and Harmon House loses badly there. I’d rate it two stars overall and do not recommend it. Breakfast is inadequate and service nonexistent. Poor showing.

We booked two nights for our anniversary and loved Harmon Guest House. It’s right among Healdsburg’s shops and restaurants, and the room felt livable, with a window seat, balcony, small table and chair, and a long shelf under the TV that became a handy place for our keys, wallet, and brochures. There were plenty of outlets by the beds, too. We loved the simple room style, and the beds and bedding were divine. Valet took our car when we arrived, and the welcome at check-in was kind. The room was spacious and beautiful. We spent an afternoon at the Rooftop Bar on the fourth floor, trying drinks and snacks. Xavier gave helpful drink suggestions, and the guacamole and chips hit the spot. Two small suggestions: please add hooks in the shower area for a towel or robe, and replace the sliding bathroom door. It doesn’t close fully or give enough privacy when using the toilet. Sean at the front desk was friendly and kind when we had to check out early. We can’t wait to return.

We’ve stayed at this chic, 39-room boutique hotel three times and keep coming back. It’s quiet and spacious, near the square, with an easy morning walk to Quail and Condor. The shower is great, the staff are nice, and the amenities come from Hotel Healdsburg Spa. The rooftop bar and small-plate area usually open after 3. The current destination fee is $35 a day. It covers valet parking, pool access, bikes if available, lobby coffee and tea in the morning, and a pretty small continental breakfast at the sister hotel two doors away. It’s a special place, though I find the fee a nuisance.
