I’m disabled, and my current home only has a shower. I used to take hot baths at my old place to help ease my pain, so I thought I’d book a hotel room with a tub for a night and unwind. At the lobby desk, I asked about a room with a bathtub. The man first said they didn’t have any. I asked again to make sure, and he said no bathtubs. When I pointed out that the online photos showed them, he changed his answer: yes, there were rooms with tubs, but it would be $90 a night and require a $100 deposit. He wasn’t particularly friendly, and after being lied to at first, I didn’t feel comfortable booking. Very uncool. Do better, guys. Sincerely, a disappointed disabled mom who just wanted a hot soak.

We’d just wrapped up three straight weeks of work at a camping festival and wanted to celebrate and relax. I picked the first affordable hotel on the list, saw the jacuzzi room, and called to ask about it. The woman said they didn’t have a jacuzzi room, just a tub with jets. I misunderstood that last part, so when we opened the door and turned on the light, we were surprised by the charming little jacuzzi room, with blue walls, a big dramatic black-and-white tulip print over the comfy bed. It was $103 on a Thursday, which is great in my experience.

We stayed two nights. The room was clean, we didn’t see bed bugs, and they gave us an extra towel. There are two floors, no elevator, and no luggage carts. Breakfast was stale muffins, cold cereal, an apple and a banana, plus some expired yogurt. The overnight desk lady was nice, but the morning staff were rude and not helpful at all. Next time I’d pay more to stay somewhere else.

For a Super 8, it was better than I expected. The beds were decent and the place was clean. I’d definitely make this my regular motel in Coshocton.

There’s no elevator, the floors creak, and breakfast was minimal. They didn’t have hot water for tea or hot chocolate, and the cups would melt in the microwave. The bathroom door lock traps people inside even when the lock hasn’t been pushed. There aren’t enough free outlets, and there’s no clock in the room.
