Swiss Alps Inn

We arrived late and found our key waiting in an envelope, which was so nice. Mike, the owner, was friendly and kind. The room was old-fashioned but worked really well, cozy and quiet, with a warm old-style A/C and a wonderfully soft, comfortable bed. We loved our first visit and definitely recommend it. We'll be back soon!

The woman who checked us in was genuinely kind and friendly, and the customer service was great. The room itself was the opposite of what the cute photos on the website suggested, and we were so frustrated that we left our reservation to find somewhere else. The curtains were broken, the fridge was in the bathroom, and the outlets only worked in one spot. The coffee maker was broken and dirty inside, there was duct tape on the wall, the vents were dusty, and the windows weren't insulated. We could smell cigarettes from the guy next door for hours. The website also showed what looked like a restaurant patio, but it was just a Dairy Keen next door. I don't understand the good ratings.

The owners and staff were really kind and down to earth, and made us feel welcome. A friend stopped by to say hello, and we had coffee in the room plus a complimentary bag of popcorn that we enjoyed. We'd definitely choose this place again next time we're in town.

The staff were sweet and welcoming, and I try to be fair to family-run places. But I couldn't get any real rest on the bed. It sank in the middle while my head and feet stayed oddly raised, making it the most uncomfortable bed of our two-month road trip through several states and many hotels and motels. The room was very old and needed TLC, and both chairs were broken and unusable. We were drawn in by the cute, charming photos and like supporting small family-owned places, but the room's comfort and condition need attention before I could recommend it.
