Budgetel Inn and Suites

The guy who checked us in had no real energy or customer service warmth. It was basically, “hand me your money, okay, here’s your room number,” in an Eeyore voice. The room had no coffee maker or hair dryer, the microwave was rusted inside, and the tub’s finish was flaking and looked a bit dirty. The duvets were stained and looked like they hadn’t been taken off and washed in years. For the price, it was okay, though I’ve stayed in better places for the same money. Like I said, it’ll do, but we probably won’t return.

Our room had what we needed, including a jacuzzi tub. I can’t say if every room has one, but ours worked well despite the incorrect instructions. The walls are very thin, so you hear everything. Still, we’d stay again.

The room was perfectly adequate, and parking was easy. The TV took some figuring out, though I wasn’t there to watch it anyway. Vicky, I think, at the front desk was helpful and entertaining, and gave us good tips for our first visit to Helen. Great value and a convenient spot for getting to the river and downtown strip. I’d stay again without hesitation.

We had a bathroom leak, and the carpet from the bathroom door all the way across to the vanity stayed soaking wet the whole time. Then our car was hit, and whoever did it left no note. The owner has security cameras, but they don’t work, so there was no footage of the vehicle for the police report. Guests have to register their cars and tag numbers with the office, but the owner didn’t know how to access the camera program. Now we’re facing a big repair bill. It felt like they cared only about the money, not their guests.
