Hi Way Inn

I only needed a bed near the VA hospital and didn’t want to spend $100.00, so I paid $56.00 for one person. I like Lq, and the room looked okay when I checked it before paying, nothing fancy. While I was resting, I spotted a bed bug and left for my car at 1:00am. As I was leaving the key card, the manager said there were no bed bugs. I had just left the room.

Bed bugs! After a couple nights here, on the second day we realized the whole room was infested. The owner was awful when we tried to talk to her and accused us of bringing them, which I can assure you we didn’t. It’s a cheap place, but once you’re paying for products to keep bugs out of your home, you might as well have stayed somewhere a little more expensive, cleaner, and with friendlier staff. Not worth it.

This was our second day of a three-day stay. At 10 am, I was trying to shower when they kept banging on the door, wanting to clean the room. I answered wrapped in a towel and said that was fine, I just needed to get dressed, but they kept yelling that they wanted in. I got dressed and went out to talk while my boyfriend finished showering. She still insisted, so I told her he was in the shower and she could come in when he was done. She threatened to call the police and tried to enter anyway, saying she didn’t care that someone was showering. They’d had their young son check us out.

There’s not much reason I can think of to pick this place over another. The location sits almost in the middle of a busy intersection, and the small parking lot slopes at about a 45° angle. The rooms are tiny, the beds are bad, and the water wasn’t working in some rooms. I’m pretty sure every room has bed bugs. Management wasn’t very friendly either.
