Red Roof Inn Fayetteville I-95

I booked one night for a trip that I had to cancel because blizzard travel restrictions made it impossible to go, and another storm is expected this weekend. I hadn't noticed the no-refund policy when booking. When I called, they explained it, and I said I understood, but asked whether an exception or credit was possible since this was due to nature, not a change of mind. They offered credit only if I gave them a travel date right away. I can't know when I'll be able to return or replan the trip. For a multimillion-dollar company, I'd hoped for a little flexibility, but apparently there isn't any.

I got in around 2 a.m. and found five dead roaches and five more crawling around. I left the light on to keep them away. For nearly $100 a night, I'd expect the place to be at least somewhat clean and roach-free. This is by far the worst Red Roof Inn I've stayed at, and at $80, it felt like they should be paying me. The outside was disgusting too, with dog mess left around. Owners and managers should keep the property up, but it clearly isn't maintained. I doubt they clean much beyond changing sheets. Red Roof should hold this location responsible or drop it. Beware in 2026.

We never unpacked. After looking around the room, we left because we didn't feel safe. The smoke smell was so heavy that our eyes burned, and a freshener had been sprayed over it, making the odor worse. The room and couch were stained, the door didn't sit properly in its frame even when we tried to lock it, and there was no fire alarm. It looked like someone, probably management, had pulled it off the wall. Other reviews seem to have mentioned missing alarms for years, and we reported the hotel. Even rooms that have alarms may be in a building where others don't. As we drove in, a couple were shouting at each other in the parking lot. At the desk, they told us to request a refund through the third-party booking system online.

I keep coming back to this Red Roof when I'm in Fayetteville. It's very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. There's a new Starbucks across the street, with Cracker Barrel and Ruby Tuesday close by too. The room has an iron and ironing board, microwave, lots of TV channels, and internet, though there's no hairdryer. The shower has good pressure and gets hot.
