Castle Gate RV Park

The dog area was a highlight, with a huge flat lawn, enclosed spaces, and plenty of interesting spots to explore on walks. Booking was easy online, and late arrivals can pick up a self-service packet with the passkey and Wi-Fi code without needing staff. The setting is quiet and natural, with lots of trees and a river along one edge, though the dividers between sites only offer some privacy. Everything felt clean, new, and well cared for. Bathrooms are private rooms with a red or green occupancy light, and they’re thoughtfully designed and very clean. Laundry was good too. One of the most comfortable, easy-to-use parks we’ve stayed at so far. We had a camper van. $36.

We just stayed overnight in our camper van, so I can’t say much about the park itself. Check-in after hours was easy, and the friendly staff communicated really well. The private bathrooms and showers were large and spotless, and the laundry room looked well equipped. Helper is a cute little town, and getting on and off the highway was easy.

We’d stay here again. It’s a well-maintained, new-looking park, and the north half seemed nicer. Downtown Helper is about half a mile away, but there’s no walkway, so keep that in mind. The bathrooms were very clean. We worried about highway noise, but it quieted down after dark enough for us to sleep. Trains came through only occasionally, didn’t blow their whistles, and were fun to watch. The riverside sites aren’t right by the water, and south of site 198 you back up to a gravel field. Once the trees have grown, this should be a really nice place.

We especially appreciated how welcoming the staff were. They offered useful local suggestions for trails, scenic drives, and places to eat. Castle Gate RV Park is clean and well looked after, with level, spacious sites that are easy to get into. There are full hookups, clean restrooms, hot showers, laundry, and reliable Wi-Fi. The landscaping and mountain views make it feel peaceful, and it’s conveniently placed for seeing the nearby canyons and historic Helper. A comfortable stop whether you’re staying one night or longer, and one of the best RV parks we’ve used. We can’t wait to come back.
