California Budget Motel

We didn't even stay the second night and canceled it right away. The room was filthy: stains on the pillows, hair on the sheets, feces in the toilet, and hair in the shower. It was noisy all night, with drug deals and other things going on, plus traffic from the busy street. I was afraid cockroaches would carry me away 🤮

I was going through a really hard time with my kids after losing everything, my house, cars, and storage. I'd stayed at a few different motels, then came to California budget with my children and was welcomed with open arms. The staff and managers are friendly, and they keep trying to hold the place together. Even while I was struggling every day, I felt comfortable and safe here, and like family. Thank you, Sally, for the hospitality and the great experience you gave us at the budget.

The bed was comfortable, but the pillows felt like rocks. I was in a handicapped accessible room, though it wasn't quite accessible: there's about a 4-inch rise to enter, and that won't be easy for every wheelchair user. The bathroom was too small to turn my chair around, and using the commode wasn't easy. They said the room had just been remodeled, but there was dust on the tables and sink, and paint or drywall chips in the tub. The TV worked, but there was no remote to change channels.

When Travel Lodge let me down, I came here and was treated with respect. It was easy and hassle-free, and they accepted cash and the ID I printed from the welfare office, so I didn't need a card. The service is great and the staff are friendly if you're not picky. Thank you, Budget Motel, for saving me from spending the night in my car.
