Ramona Motel

If you urgently need a hotel, this place might do. If you want to enjoy the stay, it’s a bad choice. I got a room right away, with smoking and non-smoking options, a king-size bed, and a larger-than-usual bathroom. Gas stations and 24/7 restaurants are nearby. The room I was given was wrong. When I unlocked the door, a guy was on the bed. Luckily he was dressed, and I apologized before going back to the office. I’d asked about a TV remote beforehand and was told it was in the room, but once I settled in I couldn’t find it. I did find a little crawling friend, Mr. Bed bug. Around 9:00 in the evening, nobody answered the door or calls. In the morning I tried ringing the doorbells and calling, still no answer. Before 6:00 a.m. I called again, and they immediately turned off their phones. It’s 6:18 am now, and I’m trying to return the key to get my deposit back. Some customers were acting stranger than usual and staring a lot.

Management was great and very accommodating. I checked in around 9pm without a reservation, and it was quick and easy. For a cheap, low-budget place, I wasn’t expecting much, but this is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in, cleaner than plenty of 4 and 5 star places. It smelled clean and had almost no dust. The carpet and floor were rough, though, and the shower had trouble switching from the tip to the shower head. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars.

The staff were attentive and did everything they could to make us comfortable. The front desk was very professional, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our rooms were spacious and spotless, with lovely decor and crisp sheets. Thank you.

Thank you to Romona for the great service. She was courteous and informative, considered the booking app rate, and had the room cleaned so we could check in. My co-workers and I needed at least two beds for two nights, but for some reason we couldn’t book online. The motel phone wasn’t working either, so we drove there and booked in person.
