We used this place as a base for seeing other parts of South Carolina and stayed for two nights. It’s an unusual setup, with a bathroom in every room plus shared spaces for watching TV and cooking.

The rooms and hotel both use keypad entry, which we appreciated for the added sense of safety. Customer service was great, and replies came quickly. The stay was a good value, though the space feels a bit dated and could use some modern updates. I’d stay again.

The bathroom was clean, and checking in through the smart home system went smoothly. Still, I wasn’t comfortable here. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel, and the beds were below average for the price. We stayed during a road trip, but I wouldn’t return. It just wasn’t worth the money.

The rooms at the back are much quieter, especially the corner ones away from the microwaves. Street-side rooms may get road noise until traffic dies down in the evening. The hotel sits right in the middle of downtown, with a streetlight, security cameras, and a smartlocked entrance. The town itself is quiet, rural, and not touristy, with nothing special or busy nearby. If that location works for you, there are few other options for miles. Just keep in mind the difference between the town’s location and the hotel’s spot within it. There aren’t bars, nightlife, or transients downtown, so it should be fairly quiet and safe. The owner cares about making guests comfortable and happy. When I raised issues calmly, she responded and followed up quickly, sometimes the same day or immediately when appropriate, and otherwise by the next day. It’s an older building in a sleepy rural South Carolina town, pretty barebones, and being improved gradually. The weekly rate seems to reflect those things, while the place down the street costs quite a bit more. There are some easy, inexpensive improvements that could make this a very solid option, and some are already underway. As it is, it’s a decent fit for people with basic needs.

Check-in with the Airbnb lock was seamless, and cameras cover the common areas and room entrances, which adds a sense of security. The place is well maintained, with clean bedding, fresh towels, hot water, updated rooms, a coffee bar, and off-street parking. As a fellow Airbnb host, I’d recommend this little spot, especially for the area. The owners are making thoughtful renovations that add to the comfort. The town feels relaxed, with charming brick sidewalks and most things within walking distance. The whole area has its own charm, especially Bella’s. I’m glad I found it, and thankful for the stay.
