AC Hotel by Marriott Pittsburgh Southpointe

Every staff member I met was polite, friendly, helpful, and genuinely nice. Jodi was working as bartender, server, and restaurant manager, and she worked incredibly hard to look after us despite being clearly overwhelmed by our group's size. The reason I gave service four stars instead of five is that the kitchen, bar, and dining area were consistently understaffed.

The bar was nice, but the hot breakfast cost $16 per person and wasn't included. The eggs and bacon were terrible. Our room hadn't been cleaned well, and the toilet seat was broken. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The biggest issue for me was the noise. I could clearly hear people in the neighboring rooms and footsteps from upstairs, so light sleepers should keep that in mind. It didn't spoil my stay, though. The hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained, with a nicely appointed room, strong shower pressure, and complimentary bottled water in the mini-fridge. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location in Southpointe was convenient, with Starbucks, KFC, and Wendy’s nearby. A solid, comfortable option in the area.

My mom lives across the street, so we stay with her when we visit and don't need a room here. Still, my wife and I skip the other Southpointe bars and come to R Bar every time. We've been going since it opened, mainly because of the staff. Jodi is a great bartender and such a kind, upbeat person who makes everyone feel at home. Her manager, Billy, does a great job and is the sweetest person. The food is excellent, and Wednesday night music is top-notch. I've also put my kids up at the hotel when they visited at the same time as us. The rooms are spacious, clean, and laid out well, and the front desk staff are very friendly.
