Red Roof Inn Hendersonville

A cockroach in the coffee basket was the first thing we found when we walked in. Still, for a Red Roof, it was better than most. The room was humid, but looked very clean and was spacious, and it smelled clean too. Beds and pillows were firm. The front desk staff was pleasant and professional at check-in. The building is outdated, though it’s been refreshed a few times and has that box-assembled hotel feel. They offer coffee and waffles in the morning, nothing else, which is better than 90% of Red Roofs across the country. I’d recommend it for budget travel.

The first non-smoking room smelled so strongly of smoke that it almost knocked me over. The replacement room was better, though it still had a faint cigarette smell. There was a large crack in the window, and the toilet needed to be flushed twice to work. A staff member was smoking by the front door, and I had to walk around him when coming and going.

Check-in was quick and easy, with friendly staff and no problems. The room was spacious and very clean, and the bed was comfortable.

I’d been looking forward to visiting, but an emergency meant I had to cancel. Trying to reach the property was hell: they repeatedly didn’t answer, and when they did pick up, they hung up. I’ve used this chain for years. No longer.
