Baymont by Wyndham Henrietta/Rochester

We kept going toward the Rochester area because the reviews made us wary of staying in Buffalo, and we were glad we did. The rooms here were spotless, sanitary, and had no smells. The bed was comfortable, and the solid blind let us sleep in a bit. It’s right off I-90, too. Thanks to the hardworking housekeepers, I’m grateful for the great job you do.

The room had everything we needed for a short stay, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and eyes. It was very clean, and the lighting was just right. The reception area also had a fresh, clean smell when we walked in. The staff were welcoming, kind, and patient as they listened and understood what we needed. Anna was especially sweet, and so was the man whose name I didn’t get. This was a perfect place for a short visit.

I work nights, and the cleaning crews woke me up every day. People yelled and played music outside my door, banged on the walls, and even used a power tool on the door next to us one morning. It was completely unnecessary noise while people were trying to sleep. I was woken up for six nights before checkout. I’ve never had hotel staff wake me so often, and certainly not at this hotel. It’s far out, but the price is the cheapest.

There was no elevator, so we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. At 3 a.m., people were yelling and fighting, and after the initial charge my card was marked for fraud. Check-in took a long time, and nobody was at the desk when we arrived. The room was in bad shape: the bathroom floor was dirty, the door lock was broken, the door sat unevenly and let light and sound in, and the window sash was broken. The bathroom door hinges were falling off. The fan was loud but barely worked, the beds were noisy and uncomfortable, and the alarm clock didn’t work. The location isn’t even that convenient. I wouldn’t stay here, even for one night.
