After a busy day at the Herkimer Diamond Mine, this was a lovely place to relax. The breakfast came in huge portions with lots of choices, and there was a hallway cart with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The house has old-fashioned charm and is brilliantly decorated. I'd recommend Mike's Grand Colonial Bed and Breakfast if you want somewhere safe, clean, comfortable, and distinctive to stay.

The breakfast is still something my mom and I talk about. Mike made it so good that I doubt I'll find one like it again unless I return to the Grand Colonial. Locals should seriously treat themselves to a staycation for that breakfast. Mike was a super friendly host, too, and shared helpful tips since we'd been away from the area for a while. We stayed in the Empire Room last November, and the bed was soft and lovely to sink into at night. I'm from Georgia, so the cold weather was a shock, but the Grand Colonial was warm and cozy. I used to stay with my grandfather and aunt when I visited Herkimer and Ilion as a kid, and being here brought back that same safe, welcoming feeling. My mom and I absolutely loved it. We'd come back 100%, 11/10.

The room was clean and nicely decorated, and Mike and Brick were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, too. Can't wait to come back!

Brick was such a sweet part of our morning, and Mike was friendly and a wonderful cook. The bed was really comfortable. The place has a charming, quaint feel, and we had a perfect stay!

We went to a wedding at Rustic Ties, about a 20 minute ride from the B&B, and this was a great place to stay. Everything was spic and span clean, from the beautiful house and rooms to all the lovely furnishings. Mike knows the area well and is a fabulous cook. He's a great host, and Brick is a very sweet, affectionate dog. A must stay!
