Harbor Haus Inn & Suites

The room was okay, fairly clean, and the beds were comfortable. It’s a no frills kind of place, with few extras: no bath mat or hair dryer. The fridge and coffee pot were nice, though there was no water for the coffee maker other than tap water. I suppose it was worth the price, but I’ll look elsewhere next time. We couldn’t find the Wi-Fi password, and only got it about an hour after we’d left. Getting the self check-in code was also a hassle. We called three times over three hours before reaching someone. The woman who finally answered was helpful and nice.

For what we paid, this was really disappointing. The room had clearly been missed: it needed vacuuming, there were live and dead spiders, and the sink had spit and a hair on it. One bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet, so I wasn’t comfortable sleeping in it. We both slept on top of the beds because the spiders had us worried anyway. This place could be nice, but it has potential that isn’t being met.

The room felt damp and smelled musty, and the carpet was covered in what looked like crushed chips. It wasn’t very clean, and the bathroom was missing soap and other basics. We checked in late for Oktoberfest, so we expected no one to be on the property, but when we needed help, the manager or owner didn’t respond in a timely way. I would never stay here again. Horrible.

I’m really disappointed. They said they’d hold a queen room and took my card details, but when I saw no charge, I called to check. No one answered, and eventually they blocked my number. Reservations are tight this time of year, and finding another place so close to my sister’s birthday is going to be impossible. They should’ve just told me they had no room instead of wasting my time.
