The Paradise Suite in the Hoehn House Cottage was comfortable and relaxing, with an excellent view. It would be a lovely choice for a couple’s trip, as I assume the other cottages on the hill would be too. I’d give the room itself five stars. The catch is that it’s a significant distance from the Inn, up 96 steps on a steep hill. It was a bit rough for someone older, though not bad for us. If anyone in your group has accessibility issues, I recommend staying in the Inn instead, unless you plan to drive to and from the cottage. Keep the walk to breakfast in mind as well. It’s served at the Inn, a few blocks away and downhill from the cottage. That was fine in good weather, but bad weather could make it harder. We paid to include breakfast. At first we were seated quickly, and our server brought drinks and took our order. There were just two options, French Toast with Bacon or a Breakfast casserole with bacon, which suited us fine. But other guests who arrived later were already eating while we waited. After 30 minutes, the other server noticed we still had no food and checked on it. About five minutes later, she told us it had just been put on the tray and should arrive soon. It finally came 45 minutes after we ordered, ten minutes after being put on the tray. Both meals were lukewarm and mediocre, and the coffee in the insulated carafe was lukewarm too. I’m guessing our first server forgot about us. That can happen, but there was no apology. Instead, they ignored us and wouldn’t make eye contact, which felt very unprofessional. We also saw someone clearing tables leave behind silverware and glasses that appeared unused. I sincerely hope that isn’t the norm, since those items had been exposed to the people sitting there, and I’d expect everything left on a table to be taken away and washed in case of coughs or sneezes. We went elsewhere for breakfast after that. We’d paid for it on the second day too, but after the first morning, we weren’t going back, and things worked out well for us. I highly recommend the lodging, but would skip the restaurant. The service was seriously lacking, and there are much better options for the quality.

We stayed in one of the cottages for a mini Thanksgiving weekend and found it cozy and comfortable. The next morning the town was covered in snow. Luckily, plowing had started before 7 a.m., since driving around Hermann’s hills would have been difficult otherwise. Our stay at the Inn at Hermannhof was a pleasure. The staff were friendly and professional, and the suite was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The late check-in directions were clear and thoughtful, with instructions for snowy conditions too. Customer service really stood out: when I accidentally left a personal belonging in the room, staff promptly let me know and mailed it back. I appreciated that. My husband and I plan to return, and I highly recommend the inn.

The walk up to Berger Gras Haus is a steep one. We enjoy walking, but after getting around town on foot from the train, it left us a bit worn out. Breakfast was pretty mediocre too, and neither of us left full. Still, the Wagner room was adorable and cozy, with water in the fridge, makeup wipes by the sink, fluffy pillows, and window seats perfect for reading. The website photos don't quite capture how nice it is. A delightful inn, though I'd eat somewhere else.

Cheryl helped set up a romantic experience neither of us will forget. We had such a good time in Teresa garden, and the view from outside the room was fantastic. The staff here were incredibly friendly, as were the people at the other locations connected with this property. A 10/10 stay!

The Violin Shop cottage sits up on a hill with a lovely view over town. It was clean, cute, and quaint, with a big comfortable king bed downstairs and a huge bathroom finished with charming rustic brick walls. Upstairs in the attic, there are two twin beds that would be great for kids. We had a really amazing stay.
