Motel 6 Hermison, OR - Umatila

I’ve been here for three weeks while working at the data center, just five minutes away. The rooms are clean, the AC runs well and quietly, and the shower gets hot with good pressure. There aren’t fancy extras, but it has what you need. Check-in is quick, and they offer deals to returning customers.

They quoted us $77 over the phone, then charged $87 when we arrived. After that, $35 was taken from our card for no reason. Definitely don’t stay here.

We didn’t stay at all. After seeing the filthy room, we walked out and returned the keycards. Bugs were everywhere, the bed was dirty, the light fixtures filthy, and the bathroom rusty. The window wouldn’t lock, and they knew about it. They’d wedged in a little stick, but I’m a small woman and could easily push it open. I felt completely unsafe. The stairs to the room were falling apart, and the supports under the second story balcony were crumbling and rusty too. I’ve stayed in some awful motels, but this one takes the cake. The front desk woman didn’t help; her shift had ended and she happily left. We drove away, and I called the next morning to make sure they’d actually checked us out. By then we were 113 miles away. I paid $90 for a huge inconvenience, and they offered only $27 back.

It was easy to find, and the service was pleasant. The room could’ve been cleaner: there was soap scum in the tub and dust built up on the shelves and light fixtures.
