Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hermosa Beach by IHG

There are plenty of useful things close by, including the beach, restaurants, a pharmacy, and a grocery store. I walked around a lot and enjoyed how convenient it was. The lobby always had coffee and tea, and there's a small shop with drinks and snacks. There was limited free parking for one car, plus a small gym and a pool I didn't use. I took an Uber from the airport because fuel was expensive, though free parking is an option if you drive or rent a car. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic and well stocked. Still, for the price I paid, the stay was just okay. Some parts of the room need updating, and noise between rooms and from outside was unacceptable. I could practically hear every word from the guests next door, and had trouble sleeping the first night. I also think weekend breakfast should run until at least 10, maybe later, since some people like to sleep in. I'd recommend checking it out anyway, as the problems could be fixed in the next remodel.

After a long flight, a long customs line, and an even longer wait at Hertz car rental LAX, it was a relief to arrive at such a lovely room. The property was clean, neat, and well kept, and our room was spotless and smelled fresh. The staff were very accommodating, especially Carlos, who helped whenever possible. Parking can be limited at night during busy periods. We also appreciated the Dove body wash, hair conditioner, shampoo, and handwash. The location is great if you're driving. We really enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn and highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hermosa Beach.

The room and facilities were impressively clean and well maintained. I've stayed at higher-rated hotels with worse upkeep, so this place pleasantly surprised me. The staff were hospitable, the stay was comfortable, and the location was convenient. The minor drawbacks didn't take away from the value or overall experience. Parking is free, but each room is limited to one car, which wasn't ideal for our group since everyone planned to drive separately. Free unmetered street parking is available, though spots get scarce later in the evening. I wish there were a way to pay in advance for extra permits so staff could plan for additional overnight cars. Wi-Fi was also slow and unreliable from afternoon into evening, which was noticeable when I tried to get some work done.

This was the noisiest hotel I've stayed at by far. On the street side, there were sirens at night and cars going by constantly. I could hear neighbors stomping around in their rooms, and people talking and walking loudly in the hallway. The bed had a good firmness and the pillow was perfect. It's walkable to the beach, the service was great, and breakfast was whatever, but better than nothing.
