The Westin Washington Dulles Airport

Our flight changed, so we canceled the reservation, but the hotel still charged us more than $300 for a room we never checked into. When I called to ask about the charge and seek a refund, the response was rude and I was told nothing could be done. We showed proof of the flight change and cancellation, yet the hotel wouldn't offer a resolution. We're now disputing the charge with our bank. Based on this experience, I'd strongly recommend booking somewhere else.

Being so close to Dulles is convenient, and I had a great stay. The front desk staff were warm and friendly. I ordered a hamburger delivered to my room, and it arrived quickly; the attendant was pleasant to chat with. It was pricey, sure, but probably one of the best burgers I've had in ages.

I was here for a few days of corporate training in Herndon and would happily return. The room was roomy, comfortable, and spotless, and the service was top notch. Dahab at the bar was wonderful, and she took great care of guests when I had breakfast there twice. High marks all around.

I stayed at the Westin Dulles on January 24 and 25 2026 because of a snowstorm. The experience was disappointing, and it didn't meet the expectations I had from its four-star rating and Marriott Bonvoy affiliation. The room itself had several cleanliness and wear issues. There were stains on the curtains, pilling on the bed cover that made it look worn and raised hygiene concerns, and smudges and stains on the glass tabletop. The furniture had chipped wood, scuffed edges, and other signs of neglect. Also, the soda came in Starbucks bottles, although the hotel's website advertises bottled soda, which felt misleading. Service was another problem. Around an unspecified time, I tried to order food and called the front desk repeatedly, only to be sent to the restaurant, which sent me back because nobody answered. The restaurant eventually called back, but it took 30 minutes to order only tiramisu and a bowl of fruit. Around 8:35 PM, I went to pick it up and found it unattended on the reception counter with no staff there. After I found someone and showed my meal voucher, he said it was dine-in only and wouldn't let me take the food to my room. I agreed to eat in and placed another order. When he started taking back the food already prepared, I asked to have it while waiting for the new order. He returned my voucher and said I had to wait or go out and get food elsewhere. The interaction felt humiliating and completely unprofessional. I hope these details and the attached pictures help other travelers decide.
