Days Inn by Wyndham Elizabeth City

Room 120 had broken outlets on the nightstand, a missing battery cover on the TV remote, busted trim behind the desk, and a leaking pipe under the sink that soaked the wood floor. It stayed wet and nasty for days, no matter how many towels we used. We arrived late and asked to move the stay to the following night or get our money back. The woman at the desk said another night would cost more. We couldn't afford that, so she let us use the room for the five hours left. At checkout, she came knocking and said we had to pay or leave. I asked for more time while we waited for family out of state to help us make a plan. She gave us 30 minutes only after I said I was in my second trimester and had two children under two. We found the money and paid for another night. My husband and friend had driven 30 minutes away, our car had broken down, and I was trying to figure out how to get my kids to them. By 11 am the next day, we were in the same situation again. A man knocked and told us to pay or vacate. I asked for time to work out a plan, and he gave us another 30 minutes. I tried to get an Uber, but the driver couldn't take us because my husband had my son's car seat. I'm still waiting for the refund on the nearly $30 I spent. Thanks, Uber. When the extra time was up, I'd packed myself, my two babies, and our things. We were sitting on the curb when the front desk man came by and asked if I was done with the room. I handed him my card and said yes, thanks. He saw I was fed up and went right back to the office. The only people who tried to help us were the man next door and a dad who had just checked in upstairs with his family. Nobody else helped me and the kids. Never coming here again.

My husband stayed here for work on 1/1/2026, and even my Frenchie was so disgusted she wouldn't eat her food. This place is filthy and infested with roaches. It's not just a few, it's an infestation. I attached plenty of photos, though I'm not sure why they aren't showing. @Wyndham Hotels, how can you let this property keep operating like this and take hardworking Americans' money for such filth? The website claims accommodations that the motel doesn't offer, and I consider that fraudulent. They should be condemned and fined until the place is remodeled. Don't stay here.

I'm a very, very disappointed Canadian traveling abroad. They charged US$200 for this place, and I wouldn't put Canada's homeless here. I can't take enough stars off the rating to reflect how bad it was. The front counter staff were beyond rude when I asked for a crib for our baby. They said I should have known from the website that they don't have cribs. When I asked what other families do with their babies, the reply was, "They just don't stay here!" The bathroom smelled like old urine, and going in nearly made me puke. The shower surround was brown and stained, like it had never been scrubbed with proper cleaners. The fridge and microwave were greasy and dirty from the previous users. One walk to the bathroom and back turned our white socks brown, the floors seemed not to have been washed in months, maybe years. There were cracked walls, broken trim, and old wall pictures splattered with grey paint from what looked like the last $20 renovation. I can't imagine what bugs and dirt we'll have to sleep with tonight. These owners seem to be here for the paycheck and nothing else.

The floors and baseboards were really dirty, but the bedding and towels were clean. The location was great, and the staff were so nice. Fine for one night.
