Blue Lake Ranch

We never felt overlooked, even though a large wedding party was staying at the ranch that same weekend. The staff at Blue Lake Ranch were helpful whenever we needed anything, including arranging an early breakfast for our first morning. The Cottage was clean, cozy, and really comfortable. It was only a short walk to the main building, where breakfast came with plenty of food and drink to choose from, with a good variety each day. Such a great place for a weekend away.

My mother stayed here more than 20 years ago and has talked it up ever since. After staying myself, I understand why. Thank you to the owners, especially Stacy and Bruce, for being so attentive and accommodating to what we needed. Blue Lake Ranch feels as special as the colorful flowers spread across its charming grounds. We left content, like the deer and wild turkeys sharing our river house space. Our dog was just as happy running through the wild grasses and drinking from the free-flowing stream. We’ll definitely be back.

A few of us were stranded in Durango after a snowstorm canceled our flights. Blue Lake kindly let us stay an extra night for free and even made us breakfast the next morning. Their generosity and hospitality blew us away. We’d been there for a dreamy wedding weekend, and the homes and casitas were all unique and comfortable. Some had amazing views. 10/10 hospitality!

We wanted a peaceful wilderness feel for our B&B getaway, while still being close enough to enjoy everything Durango has to offer. Blue Lake Ranch was just right for that. The accommodations were great, and the staff were friendly and fun. The atmosphere felt bright and cozy. We’d only been home for a day and were already telling friends about Blue Lake. Thanks, BLR, for making the getaway so enjoyable.
