High Point is a good place to stay if you need to be in or near the area. But the service was lacking: they didn’t bring clean towels to our room, so we had to get them ourselves. And don’t expect a continental breakfast, it was just coffee, a bagel or muffin, and some cereal.

Being downtown was nice, but the room looked dingy. Our sheets had burns and tears, and the mattress had a huge, really nasty stain under them. It looked like someone had died there. Breakfast was limited to waffles and bagels, and they stopped serving it at 9.

BED BUGS IN ROOM #205. Do not stay here. My room had bed bugs, and the staff showed no concern. They told me to wait until next week for any explanation or help. I’m extremely upset.

The room smelled like decades of smoke, and I don’t smoke. When I left the next morning, I smelled as if I’d slept in a bar. We asked to move to a non-smoking room that evening, but they said every room was non-smoking and none were available to move us to. They still charged almost $400 a night. I might have put up with the bloody air conditioning unit, cigarette burns on the bathtub, and patched but unpainted walls for that price if it hadn’t been for the smell. Gross. Stay somewhere else.
