I just wanted reliable Wi-Fi to get important work done, but the signal in my room barely reached one bar and kept disconnecting. My cell service was poor too. I politely asked several times to move closer to the Wi-Fi and was told there were no rooms available, even though about 80% of the rooms looked vacant. When I spoke with the main guy today, he got worked up and said DSS guests have specific rooms. It felt clear that DSS people are treated differently from regular clients. I’m clean, quiet, and respectful, and I was placed here by DSS for seven days. The main guy at the front acted pleasant at first, then lectured me that any problems would mean they’d just throw me out. There were coffee cups displayed in the lobby, but they were only for the boss. The room coffee maker spat what looked like mold into the last of my fresh water. The mini fridge was completely broken and smelled bad, though they replaced it the next day, which I appreciated. Now they’re kicking me out one day early and putting me on the do-not-return list. I don’t care much, I’ll never be back.

For the price, it’s not bad, and everything else was decent. But the coffee machine was dirty, and the carpet screws need securing. Most were coming loose, and I cut my foot on one.

The beds were fine and I slept well, and the shower got nice and hot, though the pressure was low. The towels I used had no red stains, but the ones underneath did. The TV had lots of channels, but nothing worth watching unless you like black-and-white-era shows. Things looked worn and rusty, but it did the job, and I’d use them again. For a weekend in town, it’s adequate if you aren’t expecting anything lavish. We arrived too late to see staff, but they left instructions for finding and using our assigned room keys. We had a strange feeling and started reading reviews. One sounded familiar: after using my card, I had to push the door open with my shoulder. We also found a Key Point pin behind the drawer.

The cost was $222 for one night, and it felt like no money was going into maintenance or upgrades. The parking lot was a mix of pavement, rubble, and potholes. We were in town to see our cadet off to West Point, so we had to get through the next day on almost no sleep. We arrived late and had no choice but to stay. If we’d gotten there earlier, I would have left. Our first room had bugs in the sheets and on the floor, very dated furnishings, dirty torn curtains, and shoddy walls and light fixtures. I asked to move, and the property manager didn’t look surprised. We took the alternate room, but hardly slept because the bed was awful and the refrigerator was obnoxiously loud. We didn’t want to touch anything. Both the rooms and office smelled of smoke. After reading other one-star reviews here, my experience seems typical. I assume someone planted the positive reviews to make this place look better. The owner seems to be taking advantage of West Point families. “Highway robbery” fits.

AJ was kind and pleasant as far as customer service goes, but I can’t say the same for the room service. The sheets and towels looked and smelled clean, and there was a coffee pot, but I wasn’t comfortable drinking the sink water or using it for coffee. The room photos can speak for themselves: it was so dirty I couldn’t walk on the floor without shoes. We also found what looked like remnants of drug activity between the bathroom sink and toilet. That was the dealbreaker. I wouldn’t have felt safe there without my husband. The location is very convenient for West Point. We paid $365 for two nights, which is a poor excuse for leaving the place unmanicured and unclean, from the potholes in the parking lot to gaps around doors and room fixtures. Grocery carts rattling over the gravel in the lot were annoying too, since that’s how they moved supplies around the property. With other hotels booked solid, no wonder this place was sparsely populated.
