Zion's Most Wanted Hotel

The room was large, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff were so nice. It worked well for getting some proper rest on a trip to Zion or the Grand Canyon. The mansion has a lot of history, which some people find creepy, though I didn't. I think it's amazing that the brave owner made it a hotel to help fund their local school. The stained light blue carpet was the only reason I held back a star. Otherwise, our huge room had a wonderfully comfortable king bed, and breakfast included hot food and homemade cinnamon rolls. The town has an eerie feel, and the hotel is enclosed by high, thick walls. I later learned it had been Warren Jeff's polygamist compound, which explains the name Most Wanted.

We stayed here on the way to the Grand Canyon, and the setting among the rock cliffs was beautiful. It's close to Zion National Park as the crow flies, though the driving distance is different. Aside from Jacob Lake, it's one of the nearest hotels to the North Rim. The rooms are thoughtfully arranged for comfort, with quality furnishings and a full walk-in closet. Weekend breakfast was hot and good. There aren't proper restaurants nearby. We liked both the gas station deli, especially its fresh salads, and the outdoor Mexican spot that feels more like a taco truck. There's also a bar serving pizza and hamburgers. Camping is nearby, though reaching some hiking trails takes a four-wheel-drive vehicle. It's a lovely place to get away from crowds and be out in nature.

We found this hotel late in the day while driving from the Grand Canyon's North Rim toward Las Vegas. It was reasonably priced and suited our needs well, so we'd stay again. Our room had two double beds, a couch, walk-in closet, mini fridge, microwave, and large flatscreen TV. There were sinks and mirrors both in the room and in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they accommodated our checkout time. The nearby town is small, and the hotel sits about two miles from the main road, but we had a good experience overall.
