Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Hillsboro, Oregon Hotel

The one issue was finding food late at night nearby. There are places you can drive to in 10-15 minutes, though, and parking is plentiful, with a daily charge. Otherwise, the location worked well for getting to my business meeting. The whole property is well maintained, the room was clean, and the bed was much more comfortable than the saggy ones at many hotels. Staff were friendly at check-in and in the restaurant, and breakfast had lots of variety. I also like the made-to-order options at Embassy Suites.

I had great food at the bar, an awesome bartender, and a made-to-order omelet for breakfast. Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel suited my needs really well. I took off a star because there was black mold on the bathroom's under-mount sink, and the hotel couldn't take care of it while I was there. Hopefully they fix it for the next guest.

The hotel looked immaculate in the lobby, but the room was only somewhat clean: the pull-out couch was crusty, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, and a bloodstain on the carpet. For the price, it was far too expensive. The staff were nice, and it was fairly quiet, but the stay wasn't worth the cost. The pool was empty, and they offered us the Hilton across the parking lot instead, calling it Shreks pond. It really was a green, slimy-looking pond. When we arrived, our room was around 75 degrees because the thermostat was broken. The whole second-floor hallway was stagnant and very humid. They offered a swamp cooler because they were fully booked. I went down to the front desk and got another room, past that hot hallway, with air conditioning.

We love how easy it is to check in on the app, and this place stays at the top of our list when we're in the area. The location is great, the room was clean and well stocked, and the TVs are simple to use. The evening reception was a nice extra, with 2 free drinks per adult and appetizers. There is some road noise from being near a highway, but that wouldn't make me take off stars. We'll definitely stay again.
