Fairfield Inn & Suites Hillsboro

For what I paid, I was extremely satisfied, and the friendly staff and very good breakfast were a plus. The rooms are a little worn and could use paint and new treatments. There’s a nice pool and workout gym, and the location is pretty good, with several food options nearby on the same side of 35 and the NB side. If you’re a trucker, the Loves truckstop next door is walkable. It was quiet, and I slept like a rock all night.

The room was huge, clean, and had a really comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and spacious, too. Staff were friendly, and the facilities were nice. The hallways smelled musty, although the room was fine. The hot tub had sand in it and the jets weren’t working very well. The price was phenomenal compared to nearby towns, and the location was convenient. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel was under renovation, and we found only two rooms available. We chose this place so the kids could use the heated pool, which the front desk had said was available, and we verified by calling. But it was broken, freezing, and filthy. The water was cloudy and green-brown, and the hot tub was dark brown and disgusting. There were beer cans and shot bottles everywhere. The manager supposedly didn’t know about it and wasn’t there to talk to. We eventually got a refund after spending a few hours there. And it’s not $900 a night, that’s a scam. It’s about $150-$170, but still not worth it. Just go to La Quinta, they have breakfast too 😊

The staff were great, and breakfast was okay. I’d give the stay three stars. The main problem was the strong mildew smell throughout the hotel. There was also too much pool water on the floor by the elevator. Keeping it dry and putting out a wet floor sign might help. The area was decent.
