Econo Lodge Hillsboro

The woman at the counter was lovely, friendly, and helpful. She let us leave our rental truck in the lot, too.

The room was clean and the bed was great, and it stayed quiet even though it was right by I-35. This is a bare-bones place, but it's easy to get on and off the interstate, with food and convenience stores nearby. I booked a room with a jacuzzi tub, and the front desk clerk told me he'd tested the one in my original room and found it wasn't working. He moved me to a better room, which was a thoughtful touch. I was comfortable enough to extend my stay. Just what I wanted: clean, comfortable rooms for an affordable price.

I went out to get breakfast and came back to find the cleaning staff in my room before checkout time. They need to refund my money!

The bathroom hadn't been cleaned. For a late arrival, I also had to wait quite a while before anyone answered the bell. It feels like the kind of motel where you'd get murdered.
