Palmera Inn and Suites

I had to search the company website pretty thoroughly to find the incidental hold information. We were charged about $23 per night, as stated online, plus an extra $150 hold that wasn't disclosed. I understand holds are normal, but so is telling guests about them. When I raised it at the desk, the woman immediately got rude and kept going after I asked her to be nicer. I scrolled through and showed her the whole website, where the only listed charge was the room and $23 a night. I knew that seemed low, but the extra amount should still have been on the site. A simple apology would have been appropriate. After she cooled off, she refused to take the issue down for reporting, so we finished checking in and went to our room. On day two, while my girlfriend was in the room and I was out on the balcony with the door shut, a strange man who wasn't a worker came in using a key. I happened to walk back inside just then. My girlfriend was harmed in a similar way, though I won't share her full story. When I called the number on the website, it turned into another fight with the same kind of employees instead of anyone resolving things. I couldn't get a word in, was talked over and mimicked. When I said I guessed this was an issue for the police, the woman taunted me, saying, "Oh, oh, you gonna call the police now? Do it." I'm confused by this company's customer service and safety standards, among other things. There are many agencies that will take care of this mess.

We've stayed here regularly, and the rooms are consistently very clean. Big credit to the housekeeping staff, you're doing a great job. The hotel is a good place overall. The front desk, though, needs to improve its service and friendliness. At our last check-in, we were told in an unfriendly way that they'd read "all" two of our messages. They hadn't replied or taken care of our polite requests, which felt rude. I wanted to leave right then. We have a couple of upcoming reservations, but may cancel if things at the desk don't change. We want to feel valued as guests, just as we value the hotel employees. I'll update this after our next stay.

Everything was very clean, which matters most to me, and the rooms were large. The employees were really nice too. We stayed three nights and definitely felt it was worth the price. If we're in the area again, we'll stay here.

The place had everything we needed, including a full kitchen with a dishwasher and full-size fridge, plus a lovely room with a loft and two full bathrooms. It was exceptionally clean. There was an outdoor hot tub beside the pool, and they accept pets, with a pet park out back. Kids have a playground, and there are bikes too. The beach is just four minutes away, with lots of shops and grocery stores nearby. Worth every penny!
