It's strange to see this pool again after so many years. When I was young, I used to come to this hotel twice a week. So much has changed. People always say places seem worse than they remember from childhood, but this is the first time I've seen pictures of somewhere that look exactly as I remember it. Looking at it objectively, it's near town, with a decent pool, hot tub, and sauna. It was usually not too busy, assuming it's still operating. I'm not sure it made it through COVID. Despite what this page says, it always looks empty when we drive past lately.

The pool and hot tub were nice. The lobby had a bit of a smoky smell, but the non-smoking rooms were fine. The first receptionist was nice, and all the security guards were kind. Elizabeth, the other front desk girl, was rude and not helpful at all. I had to talk to the manager about billing issues that still haven't been resolved, though she did call back quickly.

The location was quite convenient, and the price was excellent, but I was very disappointed. I'd pay more for a cleaner place with decent beds. The hotel is old and dated, which usually doesn't bother me if it's clean. Our room wasn't: the bathroom floor and walls were dirty, much of the furniture was dusty, and the little bar fridge was filthy. The mattresses were old, saggy, and really uncomfortable.

The front desk clerk was very friendly, and our bathroom was clean and looked updated. The sleeping room, though, hadn't been refreshed. I could tell people had been allowed to smoke there before, even though we'd reserved a non-smoking room, and they'd tried to cover the smell with deodorizer. The hotel could use fresh paint and new carpeting. It wasn't horrible, but some updates would make it feel cleaner.

The pool is almost warm, which I love, and the hot tub is hot. The sauna is good, too. We like staying here overall. It's kind of old, and we think it may be a converted Motel 6, but it's still clean and quiet. They have a continental breakfast, which you don't get at the others. The casino is a ways away, and the shuttle runs there around the clock, but we'd rather drive since it only takes a few minutes.
