Scottish Inns & Suites Hitchcock/Santa Fe

The rooms are spacious and clean, with fresh-smelling towels and clean sheets. There was plenty of hot water, and the area was well lit at night. Breakfast is basic and the eating area is small, but it's included. They also have washers and dryers to use. We'll be back.

I appreciated how nice the young woman at the window was. She explained that only single beds were available for Labor Day weekend, then upgraded me to a single bedroom with a kitchen. The rooms are clean and good value, and the property feels safe and is walkable. I'd definitely recommend this Scottish Inn and Suites.

We were so surprised by how clean the floors were. After showering, I realized my clean socks were still in our suitcases, so I stepped onto a white towel and shuffled over to get them. The towel stayed white, without a trace of footprints or grime. The room smelled good too, with no animal odor, smoke, or perfume covering anything up. Places where we usually stay along the sea wall have all smelled terrible, so we much prefer Scottish Inns and Suites in Hitchcock for its cleanliness. The rate is fantastic, especially these days, and the staff are nice and accommodating. The room is spacious and clean. Lower priced places can be tacky and grimy, but they exceeded our expectations on cleanliness alone. My husband and I sleep very differently, but we both slept so well in these comfortable beds that we're staying another night. We have a lovely comfortable bed at home, too.

It's convenient to get to Galveston pier from here, so make plans with that in mind. Just don't expect good breakfasts or good rooms. The place is very dated.
