The staff are amazing, but every time I go I end up down money. The casino is always hot, and they say they’re fixing the AC, but it never gets fixed. The machines are tight. If you’re hoping to win, the only machine that pays out is the ATM. It’s hard to move up a tier on the players card, too. I’ve put so much money into the place and haven’t even advanced one tier. I won more on one trip to Vegas than I did going to Zia every weekend. Save your money and go to Vegas.

The casino surprised me by how small it was, and I wasn’t impressed that it was slots only. The hotel was easy to find and close to everything in town. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was quiet, though it was off season and not crowded, and the bed was comfy with fabulous pillows. It was dusty but otherwise clean, maybe because it was off season. The TV was really dim and dark and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. The mini fridge didn’t keep anything cold, the thermostat didn’t work, and the door handle was very loud and squeaky.

Zia park is our getaway place, and the employees make our stays so much fun. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been pretty awesome. I really enjoy chatting with Donna, Eva and Carmen. Those are the few names I can remember, but the customer service is what I love. I once had an issue with a reservation and was very satisfied with how it turned out. The ladies are amazing and so sweet. Thank you!

The food is horrible, and the water is too. They need an RO system. Parking was absolutely awful. I’m disabled, and having to park out in the middle of nowhere on the west 40 and walk alone was horrible. People make their own spaces in fire lanes, the drive area, and rock beds. Homeless people were walking around the lot picking up cigarettes, and I felt unsafe there. The machines inside were down. Attendants took 45 minutes to reach my machine, then acted like I’d won big money and made me sign documents for a few bucks. The staff need more training, and housekeepers take their time doing rooms, but that still doesn’t excuse the rooms being dirty.

It’s a beautiful, well kept property, but if you’re going for the casino, expect to lose. They claim it’s the fifth highest paying casino in New Mexico, and that they have more video poker machines than anywhere else. I think both claims are lies. The poker machines are all a quarter or a dollar or more, and you can’t win. I played hundreds of hands and never got four of a kind. Go for the horse racing instead. The facility is lovely, but at the casino you’ll lose all your money, and fast.
