Fairfield Inn & Suites Holland

We only stayed because our youth hockey tournament gave us no choice. The hotel feels dated, the rooms smelled off, and housekeeping never came once all weekend. My key kept failing, so I had to go down and get it replaced or have the door reset at least 15 times. Staff shouted at our kids until they cried, first for playing mini stick hockey and then for quietly playing Uno in the halls. They also accused us of deliberately breaking the waffle machine, which was ridiculous.

What a mess. Kids ran through the halls all night and the hotel did nothing. At 3 pm we called because the shower handle kept falling off, but apparently maintenance had already left for the day. So, no shower? I'd avoid this place.

I’ve never had a more unpleasant hotel stay. On Sunday morning, 11/6/25, the woman in charge was incredibly rude to customers. During breakfast, the waffle batter handle broke and spilled everywhere. She kept accusing a group of very young elementary hockey players of breaking it on purpose, though it was an accident involving a grown man. After it was fixed, I could barely move the handle to get batter out. Two teams were staying there, and she kept complaining to them about police being called late the previous evening because kids were playing in the halls, as they often do. She also kept bringing up an employee who quit during the night after a hockey player hit them with a stick. The families kept telling her they weren’t involved, but she wouldn’t stop complaining to them. She never apologized to the other guests she made uncomfortable. I wish I could find and contact the manager. We planned to stay here for 3-4 nights in February for our daughter’s College Swim and Dive Championships, but I’ll spend our money elsewhere.

The hotel is older but well looked after, and our decent sized room was clean. There’s a small pool and jacuzzi, plus a hot breakfast. Getting around the immediate area was easy. No complaints.
