We returned to finish our vacation once the power came back. On our first night, a snowstorm caused a citywide outage, and Cody handled the situation professionally. He managed the guests well and even offered his personal cell number to help us find another hotel for the night. We stayed here a few days with our dogs, and we’re usually careful to keep them out of other guests’ way. At breakfast, we sat on the separated, secluded side of the area, but another front desk employee came over right away and told us to stay away from breakfast. That was upsetting, especially since we’ve never been told that at another Marriott. We’re loyal to the brand because it’s usually pet friendly. That staff member’s unfriendly treatment is why I’m giving four stars.

We chose this hotel specifically for the pool and told the staff that. It was closed because of an issue involving the fire alarm system. We were promised a manager would contact us Monday, but more than a month after our stay, we still haven’t heard anything. The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel itself was nice, and breakfast was good. It’s the management’s lack of communication and follow-through that left us disappointed. We’ll probably book somewhere else next time, hopefully a place with more responsive management.

Cody at the front desk was friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. The hotel is close to restaurants, shops, gas stations, and a movie theater, and our room was clean and nice. The bed and pillows felt a little firm, though, and the peace and quiet didn’t last. The smoke alarm went off twice, which I guess was from steam off the hot tub. Later, a group checked in and their kids were running and screaming. Without the alarms and noise, I’d have given five stars. Thanks, and we’ll try staying here again when we’re in town.

There’s a lot to like here: fire pits and grills outside, board games to borrow, and a gym with updated equipment. The pool and hot tub were in good shape, as were the shared spaces. Our room was spacious, with a kitchen and nice finishes. Breakfast was decent, with the usual choices, and the staff were friendly. I’d definitely recommend a stay.
