Hollywood Beach Blue Wave

My family and I weren't given the room we'd originally booked, and the price was exorbitant. The front desk man gave us terrible service: he ignored us, spoke dismissively, and acted hostile, almost as if he meant to intimidate us. The room was in unacceptable shape. There were rat droppings on the bed, snot on the wall, inappropriate writing on picture frames, and no hand soap or shower soap. The paint and baseboards were in awful condition, and trash had been pushed to the edges of the couch and floor, as if housekeeping had just swept it aside. This was the worst experience I've had, and I strongly advise against this hotel. It isn't worth the rental rate.

The original booking agreement wasn't honored at all. I had agreed to this room with free early check-in included. When I arrived at the confirmed time, they said I couldn't check in then and would have to return six hours later. They also wanted $35 for early check-in.

The room was gross, and the staff were unbelievably rude. I had to go to the office several times between check-in and checkout, and every other guest I saw seemed unhappy and was dismissed too. We paid for parking, got a ticket anyway, and they refused to refund us for their bogus parking pass. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more somewhere else. One of my worst hotel experiences.

The pool area was a highlight, with umbrellas to sit under in the sun, and the hotel also has a fitness center and beach. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with comfortable bedding and a spotless bathroom stocked with what we needed. The staff were warm and accommodating from the moment I arrived, and check-in was quick and helpful. There was a wide range of facilities and activities, and staff went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. My time at the Blue Wave hotel was amazing, and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a beach within a minute's walk.
