The Palms

After traveling all day with two kids, we arrived late and felt uneasy about the hotel as soon as we got to the area. We had to park behind the building and walk to the room. Opening the door, we were hit by a strong smell of piss and cleaning products. The room was disgusting and nothing like the reviews we’d seen through United rewards. I checked Google and found very different reviews there. I’d opened the sofa bed to look at it, and the underside of the mattress was covered in stains. One reviewer mentioned finding bugs in the bed, and that didn’t surprise me. I didn’t feel safe there with my children. I went back to the front office right away and said I couldn’t stay. I’d been checked in maybe ten minutes, but they refused to refund any of the stay or even the extra resort fees and parking charged at check-in. The front desk people were rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

The room was dirty, smelled strongly, and the bed was infested with bedbugs. I reported it, but the front desk employee shouted at me and denied the problem despite visible evidence. I felt unsafe and had to leave around midnight. I documented everything with photos and video. My stay at Stay in Hollywood The Palms was unacceptable. The hotel wouldn’t refund me even though I had to leave because of unsafe conditions. I strongly advise people to avoid this property. I’ll notify the health department. Let’s get this awful place shut down.

A small, unique gem where you feel like a local. The front desk staff were friendly, and checking in fairly late, after 11 p.m., was no problem. It felt very private; I didn’t see anyone else during my stay. The room might feel a bit small for some, but it was just right for me, and the beach is a very short walk away.

The beach is just two minutes away, which is the only good thing I can say about this hotel. The room smelled musty, like an old, dirty air conditioner, and my friend’s pullout sofa mattress absolutely reeked of urine. The store prices left me feeling taken advantage of. They had an Arizona drink, one Hot Pocket, and a tiny bag of chips for over $12, though they should have cost around $5. The products were from Dollar Tree and cost $1.25 there, but were marked up five times. There was a kitchen sign saying plates and silverware were provided as a convenience, but every cabinet and drawer was empty. We had nothing to eat our food on or with.
