Residence Inn By Marriott Birmingham Homewood

Our only small complaint was that we had to leave so soon. The room at Sonesta ES Suites Homewood was spotless and spacious, with crisp linens and a really comfortable bed. The staff, especially at the front desk, were friendly and helpful, and even arranged a late checkout. Breakfast was hot and offered a fantastic range of choices. The location worked well, within reasonable distance of major sights. Great prices and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hall stayed quiet. I booked six hours through the Dayuse app for a couple of hours of rest away from home, and the front desk staff made the stay relaxing. I can't remember the check-in lady's name, but she was lovely to talk with, even though I hate small talk. She gave me a tucked-away room so I could get the rest I needed. At checkout, the young man told me he was new and wanted to be sure he was doing things right. He accidentally charged my card again, but apologized and took steps to fix it, keeping me honestly informed. The GM called to apologize and said the charge was being corrected. I didn't like his slightly negative tone about the young man's mistake. We're all human, mistakes are part of learning, and I appreciated that the employee owned it and worked to put it right. If I need another day getaway, I'll stay here again because of the front desk staff I met. I hope they're there when I return, and that the GM is a little kinder about staff mistakes.

It was a peaceful stay, with a very clean room and a bed more comfortable than my own at home. The staff were helpful, and thank goodness for the breakfast. I'll be back, and I'm a travel pass member.

The staff were TOTALLY AWESOME, and the rooms were clean. I loved staying here. Breakfast could use a little work, though. We needed both sausage and bacon. Everything else was great!
