Hondo Inn

Barbara in the kitchen kept the food coming, and breakfast had an amazing selection: biscuits and gravy, bacon, and potatoes. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

I stayed here three years ago and it wasn’t this dirty. This time I had to move rooms right away because there were toilet and carpet stains and a smoke and musk smell. The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude. In the second room we killed at least one roach, found mold all over the bathroom and dust everywhere, including on the air conditioner, which had dead bugs and mold. None of the hotel carpets had been vacuumed. Next time I’ll rent an Airbnb in town or drive from San Antonio.

The hotel is in a convenient location near the major highway, and the front desk staff were friendly and attentive. Our first assigned room hadn’t been cleaned properly: the beds were made, but the floor hadn’t been vacuumed, the bathroom hadn’t been wiped down, and the toilet was dirty. We reported it and were quickly moved to a clean room. I’m sure the first room was an oversight by the cleaning staff, and they resolved it quickly.

This hotel is about as pet friendly as it gets. The people here love animals, and the property sits among nature and animals, with a huge agricultural crop surrounding it. They’re so kind to our family and make a real effort to keep our stay comfortable. The whole place feels laid-back, but service is prompt. It has a family-owned feel along with a professional work ethic.
